Ricky Stephens A Modern Villain

Hello.

My name is Ricky and I think Voldemort should have won. Welcome to my blog.

5 Times Wolverine Gets Beaten Up!

5 Times Wolverine Gets Beaten Up!

I recently published a post titled "5 Times Spider-Man Gets Beaten Up!" where I went through some of Spider-Man's worst beatings, both physical and emotional, that I know of. Before that post I'd just been focusing on the truly evil moments from some of my favorite characters... but the "5 Beatings" style was a lot of fun for me.

Today I am going to ask the question "Who can beat up Wolverine?" and dedicate this post to the most humiliating Wolverine defeats that I can find. Without further ado, I present "5 times Wolverine Gets Beaten Up!"

5. In Ultimate Wolverine vs. Hulk #1 the Hulk literally rips Wolverine in half!

In Ultimate Wolverine vs. Hulk, Wolverine is commissioned by Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D. to track down and "take care of" the Hulk because he is responsible for "incidents of mass destruction". This is all told in flashback, however, as Wolverine (ripped in half) climbs a mountain with just his arms in an attempt to find his unattached legs.

4. In Wolverine #10 Sabretooth kills Silver Fox, Wolverine's lover, and beats Wolverine nearly to death.

Wolverine has a healing factor, sure, but the beating Sabretooth gives him is both physical and emotional- it is one of the few times we get to see Wolverine legitimately scared. It's brilliant!

3. In X-Men #25 of the "Fatal Attractions" story arc, Magneto rips the adamantium out of Wolverine's body.

The events of "Fatal Attractions" surround an attempt, by Magneto, to make the world better for mutant kind by wiping out humans- and it is inspired by the human resurgence of the Sentinel program. Magneto and his acolytes are operating from a space station called Avalon when the X-Men attack. They are swiftly defeated by the master of magnetism and, in his rage, Magneto rips the adamantium from Wolverine's body.

Adamantium is the name of the metal that is bonded with Wolverine's bones and, by ripping it out, Magneto nearly kills him.

2. In Punisher #17, Punisher shoots Wolverine's face and balls off... and runs him over with a steam roller.

The events of Garth Ennis 2001 comic Punisher #17 follows Punisher and Wolverine as the try to find out who is murdering people and cutting them in half... collecting torsos and leaving only their legs behind. Each character suspects the other of being the murderer and it leads to an awesome fight where Wolverine gets defeated and brutally humiliated beyond anything else I've seen.

Also worth mentioning:

1. In The Death of Wolverine, Wolverine gets killed by Dr. Cornelius of the Weapon X program.

Wolverine gets a virus that mutes his healing factor- allowing all of his enemies to team up and try to kill him. Wolverine fights most of them off but during the last fight, with Dr. Cornelius of the Weapon X program, Wolverine slices through tanks of Adamantium to flood the room. Wolverine's whole body is covered in Adamantium and he walks slowly into the sun, the metal around his body hardening as he dies.
