Dr Doom- Fantastic Four: Unthinkable
The story of Fantastic Four: Unthinkable revolves around Dr. Doom and his desire to return to magic- feeling that science and technology are no longer a suitable means to conquer his enemies. In his pursuit of power, Doom makes a deal with the Haazareth Demons that will increase his power.
Doom begins searching for his long lost love, Valeria. He finds her and convinces her to, once again, get close to him. At this point in the story we see a tenderness, almost a weakness, in Dr. Doom's character.
Doom saw his feelings for Valeria as a weakness that he needed to eradicate; he sends Valeria to hell as a sacrifice to the Demon Trio and claims his new power. How evil is that?
Worth a mention: Later in the story Doom delivers a baby named Valeria (named for Doom's old girlfriend) to happy parents Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Woman. In the instance of birth, Doom puts a spell on the baby to make her his magical familiar- meaning that he can use the child to spy on the Fantastic Four! Her parents are unaware until her first word, "Doom", triggers an attack from the Haazareth Demons. The demons steal Valeria's brother, Franklin, and take him to hell.
When the Fantastic Four decide that Dr. Doom must be behind the attacks they pay him a visit in Latveria. Doom invites them to his castle and casts a spell that trades powers between the group's members. The Human Torch gets Mr. Fantastic's stretching ability, Invisible Girl bursts into torch-esque flames, The Thing is forced to fight endless waves of beasts, and Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic) gets trapped in a library full of books about magic- which he had no understanding of.
